Here are some of the latest music album releases available this month.

Bob Dylan – Rough and Rowdy Ways

Columbia Records

‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’ is Bob Dylan’s first album of original material in eight years and his first since becoming the only songwriter to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature, in 2016.

The album’s 10 tracks include the three new songs released this spring: the album’s lead-off track, “I Contain Multitudes,” the nearly 17-minute epic “Murder Most Foul” and False Prophet.

Dylan has been a major figure in popular culture for more than 50 years. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when songs such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” (1963) and “The Times They Are a-Changin’” (1964) became anthems for the civil rights and anti-war movements.

Dylan’s lyrics during this period incorporated a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences, defied pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning counterculture.

He has received numerous awards for his music and has sold more than 100 million records, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Tracks include: I Contain Multitudes, False Prophet, Murder Most Foul.

Neil Young – Homegrown

Reprise Records

Neil Young puts it best: “This album is the unheard bridge between Harvest and Comes a Time.”

Recorded between June 1974 and January 1975, Homegrown was intended to come out in 1975 before Neil cancelled the release. The album has remained unreleased until now, achieving a legendary status among Neil Young fans in the process. The album is made up of 12 Neil Young songs, of which seven are previously unreleased.

Also included are the first recordings of “Love Is A Rose,” “Homegrown,” “White Line, “Little Wing,” and “Star Of Bethlehem” – different versions of which would all later appear on other Neil Young albums.

Neil plays solo on some tracks (guitar, piano and harmonica), and is joined by a band of friends on other tracks, including Levon Helm, Ben Keith, Karl T Himmel, Tim Drummond, Emmylou Harris and Robbie Robertson.

Recorded in analog, and mastered from the original master tapes, this long-lost album is a wonderful addition to Neil’s incomparable catalog.

Tracks include: Separate Ways, Try, Homegrown, Love Is A Rose, We Don’t Smoke It No More, Star of Bethlehem.

Braids – Shadow Offering

Secret City Records

Unlike previous albums, Braids decided to stay close to home for the recording of Shadow Offering. Taking over a spacious sound recording studio tucked in an old warehouse, the band were able to slow down and creatively rediscover themselves.

‘With this album, we wanted to give ourselves time to achieve a higher caliber of artistry and collaboration,’ Tufts says.

No longer riding the novelty of youth, the band deliberately took time to recommit to themselves and their craft, and channel new energy into their music. They wrote 40 songs. They went through their Saturn Returns. They learnt how to support one another better. They drank a lot of La Croix.

Although the album directs itself at the failures of people to love and be loved, it also seeks to restore justice and attain blissful union. Its arc crests through the dark towards the light and learns how to dance with the dizzying rhythms of the heart. The songs bubble, sustain, dissolve, expand, retract.

Tracks include: Here 4 U, Young Buck, Eclipse (Ashley), Just Let Me, Upheaval II, Fear Of Men, Snow Angel, Note To Self.

Jessie Ware – What’s Your Pleasure?

Interscope Records

Jessie Ware’s fourth studio album, What’s Your Pleasure?, will be released on June 19. The recording process was a transformative period for Ware and the album sees the influential artist reconnect with her roots, entirely on her own terms.

`What’s Your Pleasure?’ at its core explores themes of femininity, freedom of imagination and escapism.

The album features her recent hit single, `Spotlight’, which drips with the hallmarks of a long-lost city pop classic; Ware’s sultry vocals, nearly a whisper, float atop beds of string flourishes and synthesizer swells courtesy of Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford. Every aspect of “Spotlight” — from its heart-wrenching final line to the subtle acid house conclusion — betrays the handiwork of real studio experts.

The album was initially scheduled to be released on June 5, however the date was moved to June 19 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tracks include: Spotlight, What’s Your Pleasure?, Ooh La La, Soul Control, Save a Kiss, Adore You, In Your Eyes, Step Into My Life, Read My Lips, Mirage (Don’t Stop), The Kill, Remember Where You Are..

Lamb of God – Lamb of God

Epic Records

Lamb of God is the upcoming 10th studio album by American heavy metal band Lamb of God. The album was originally planned to be released on May 8, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be released on June 19.

Lamb of God will be the first studio album of all-new material by the band since 2015’s VII: Sturm und Drang, making it the longest gap between their albums, and the first to feature Art Cruz as the replacement of original drummer Chris Adler, who left Lamb of God in July 2019.

Formed in 1994 as Burn the Priest, the group consists of bassist John Campbell, vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, and drummer Art Cruz. The band is considered a significant member of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal movement. Since their formation, Lamb of God has released nine studio albums, one live album, one compilation album and three DVDs.

Album contains explicit lyrics.

Tracks include: Memento Mori, Checkmate, Gears, Reality Bath, New Colossal Hate, Resurrection Man, Poison Dream, Routes, Bloodshot Eyes, On The Hook.
