Vivian Apodaca, age 99, passed away peacefully April 15, 2020, with family at her side. She was born December 2, 1920 in Humboldt, Arizona, to Maruricio and Amelia Arias. She grew up in Jerome, Arizona.

She married Albert C. Flaherty in 1953 and raised 5 children together in Phoenix. He preceded her in death in 2005. She later married Victor Apodaca, who preceded her in death in 2019.

She raised 5 amazing children. Her beloved son Michael Neil Flaherty preceded her in death in 1977. Her joy was her 10 grandchildren and her 12 great-grandchildren. Her beloved grandson, David Joseph Flaherty and her beloved great-granddaughter, Angel May Good preceded her in death.

Vivian loved and touched everyone she met in a very special way. She inspired everyone with her great attitude and huge heart of gratitude.

Her life was an example of the Bible verse Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God so forgave you in Christ.

Vivian was also an amazing cook and loved to cook for her family and friends.

Vivian is survived by her sister, Julianna Masters; her children, Patricia Thomas, Joseph Flaherty, Catherine Devitte and Karyn Oard; her grandchildren, Laura, Chantel, Allissa, Christopher, Michelle, Keuna, Meadow, Westen and Bryson; and her great-grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Nolan, Anna, William, Amber, Alicia, Joey, Brianna, Quinten and Gwyneth. All of them she loved and touched deeply.
