VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK — The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists to plan for daytime lane restrictions along a six-mile stretch of State Route 179 north of Interstate 17, according to a news release.

The project is scheduled to take place from Monday, Sept. 20, through Friday, Sept. 24, as crews perform maintenance on the roadway.

“Drivers should be prepared to stop and proceed through the work zone with caution, watching for construction personnel and equipment,” a news release stated.

The restrictions are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday:

  • State Route 179 will be restricted to one lane only of alternating north- and southbound travel from milepost 299 to 305;

  • Work will be performed in half-mile segments; and

  • Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.

The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
