DINE IN, DINE OUT: Enjoy a magical holiday meal at Hilton’s Shadow Rock Tap & Table
Chef Hector Vazquez has developed a wonderful menu befitting the magical patio of Shadow Rock Tap and Table.
The restaurant is in the newly remodeled Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock. On board since June 2022, Chef Vazquez’s experience with guests from all regions has allowed him to stylize upscale dining to fit all palates.
The Dunnery dined as a couple in October and were so pleased with our choices of the Daily Catch, pan seared halibut, vegetable risotto casserole, and ahi poke bites, we knew we would come back. Our service was first rate, as expected, and there was an adequate number of wines by the glass. Our spa discount was accepted.
Suzie and some of her Hilton Spa “Sweatheart” friends celebrated Barb Mallek’s birthday there, shortly after the hotel had decorated for the holidays. In the lobby they gathered around the Grinch for a photo op and then were seated in an outdoor heated “Chalet.” As in a garden, they were surrounded by lighted deer, greenery, toy soldiers and igloos set up for other diners. It was magical.
On top of that magic, they learned that Barb had never had a birthday party. This was her first! What joy! Chef Hector joined them for another photo op. With glasses of wine in hand, Barb was toasted as was the group’s friendship.
Appetizers were shared: the artisan flat bread (chef’s daily choice using salmon belly) and ahi poke bites. For entrees, fortunately The Daily Catch again was halibut. Two orders, please! Vegetable risotto casserole, cheezy tomato bisque and roasted vegetable salad with pan-seared salmon on the side filled out the remaining orders. Zoe, our server, did a great job manipulating the “front door” with the help of her busser. She presented Barb with a candle lit slice of New York Cheesecake that Barb so kindly shared. An enchanting evening was spent. P.S. The spa discount was accepted. Nice touch for locals!
The Hilton has many holiday happenings that can be viewed at Hilton Sedona or #Hilton Sedona Holidays. Star gazing, fireside s’mores and more. There will be a four course Christmas Day menu as well as a celebratory New Year’s Eve menu. Reservations are required and can be made at 928-284-4040.
