SWAT called in to extricate felony suspect
COTTONWOOD – The Cottonwood Police Department traced a suspect, who allegedly had a felony warrant, to Pine Shadows on Thursday in an incident that ended with the deployment of SWAT.
The warrant was apparently out of Yavapai County.
CPD reported Saturday that officers attempted to contact the suspect, who refused to surrender after talking with negotiators. Verde Valley Regional SWAT responded.
“Negotiators and SWAT members deployed tactics that eventually led to the suspect walking out of the residence and being taken into custody,” CPD reported in a news release Saturday.
CPD said the suspect, who was not named, was booked into Yavapai County jail.
