Sedona Library in the Village: Wednesday Movie Matinee Kicks Off 2023
The ball has dropped, and we welcome 2023 with hope and promise. As we all do in the New Year, the Library is beginning some new things. It’s also a great time to review what we have been offering to the Village and Big Park Community for over a year now.
It’s show time! Beginning this month Sedona Public Library in the Village will show movies in the Javelina Community Room. Join us on the first and third Wednesdays each month at 2 p.m. for a movie matinee! Come on in, sit wherever you want, and enjoy the show! We’ll even have free popcorn!
Speaking of the Javelina Community Room, are you looking for a venue to hold your HOA meeting or workshop this year? This room is available for rentals: it has great technology and can be set up to meet your seating arrangement needs. Come by and check out this great new space. We also have small study rooms available that are perfect for one to four people for smaller meetings.
Other programs for the new year include the upcoming archaeology talk with Ken Zoll from the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum. Join us on January 11, 1 – 2:30 p.m. in the Javelina Community Room.
Sedona Public Library in the Village has more for you! You can still register for Yavapai College OLLI classes hosted at the Village Library. And, you guessed it, we hold OLLI classes in our brand new Javelina Community Room.
We are continuing family programming in 2023 including Story Time on Tuesdays, 11:15 – 11:45 a.m., and join us for Music and Movement with Harta on Fridays, 11:15 – 11:45 a.m. in the children’s area.
We are happy to announce that we will continue both Tuesday technology with Marcy and Wednesday notary services with Andrea. Make an appointment for these services by visiting the RESOURCES tab on our website, sedonalibrary.org, and go to “appointments.”
If you haven’t yet checked out the free Act One Culture Passes available at the Village Library with your library card, 2023 is a great time to do so! You’ve never heard of the Act One Culture Pass? It is a partnership between Act One, the Library, and local and statewide cultural and art institutions. Many libraries participate in the program, and we are proud to offer this exciting program to our cardholders at both of our branches! Make sure to visit yc.edu/ollisedonaverde for more information.
Don’t have a library card yet? This is a great reason to get one! All you need is valid photo identification and proof of your current address to get a free library card. It’s that simple!. And to find out which Culture Passes are currently available, call 928-282-7714 or stop by either library.
We’ve got exciting plans for you at Village Library. To find out more, feel free to email me at janmarc@sedonalibrary.org, and I’ll be happy to chat about our programs, events, or to send you pictures of the spaces! Or find our events under the EVENTS tab, on sedonalibrary.org, which will keep you up to date on everything happening at the Village Library.
