The Sedona International Film Festival presents “Jesus in India” on Monday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

“Jesus in India” is an acclaimed documentary about the mystery of the missing years of Jesus by Sedona resident and noted filmmaker Paul Jeffrey Davids.

In this film, a former Fundamentalist from Texas is ousted from his church for asking unwelcome questions. "If God wanted you to know that, it would have been in the Bible," author Edward T. Martin is told, but that does not satisfy him, and he undertakes a seeker's quest across 4,000 miles of India in search of answers and evidence about where Jesus was from age 13 to 30.

There is only one sentence about those years of the life of Jesus in the New Testament. Why? You will think long and hard about the startling surprises Ed Martin discovers in India, where it has long been believed by many that Jesus took the Silk Road to India and lived for years among Hindus and Buddhists.

The film features appearances by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, best-selling author and Biblical scholar Professor Elaine Pagels of Princeton University, His Holiness the Shankaracharya (spiritual leader of the Hindus), Brother Chidananda, President of Paramahansa Yogananda's Self-Realization Fellowship, and Monsignor Corrado Balducci, Catholic theologian of the Vatican, among others.

Paul Davids' many films have been presented by the Sedona International Film Festival at the Mary Fisher Theatre. Since December, they have screened his films “The Life After Death Project” (a 3-film series), “Starry Night”, “Marilyn Monroe Declassified” and “Timothy Leary’s Dead”.

There will be a Q&A presentation with filmmakers Paul and Hollace Davids following the screening.
