Call for Artist Entries Issue for VOC Roundabouts
The Art in the Roundabouts Committee of the Big Park Council announced a call for artist entries for three-dimensional public art for display in the four roundabouts in the Village.
The project background and progress can be viewed at a dedicated website, OurVillageArt.com. Interested artists can download a comprehensive document that fully explains the project themes, materials and requirements of the work, application and selection process, timeline and budget.
Proposed Themes
The vision for the roundabout artworks is to creatively interpret and reveal the story of our Village. Through the process of a recent community survey, the community has endorsed the following themes:
• Native American heritage of the Big Park area
• Our abundant wildlife
• Our western heritage
• Our cattle-ranching history
• Our manifold outdoor recreational opportunities, such as hiking, biking, birding and golfing
While the Committee has identified these themes, it will also consider other themes consistent with our mission to represent the history of our community.
