There are two characteristics of Covid-19 that make it more contagious than other viruses. It can travel on much smaller droplets than other viruses, (making it “airborne”- more like TB or measles), and it can be passed to another person even when there are no symptoms of illness.

Most of the masks -- which I call face diapers -- I see people wear are no good at all in either keeping the wearer from spreading the disease, or from catching it. They are simply a placebo.
