On Nov. 23, Rev. H. Eugene and Gladys (Glad) Risch will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on Thanksgiving Day, 1950, when the "Big Snow Storm" hit Cincinnati, Ohio and the temperature plummeted from shirtsleeve weather in the morning to 17 degrees below zero F by night fall. Their daughters Sherry and Carolyn, their husbands Larry and Louis and granddaughter Marisa gave them an early gift of a week in a story book cabin in Ruidoso, N.M. They were transplanted to Clarkdale, 15 years ago from their home state of Ohio, residing first in Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming. They are very happy in their home at Lampliter Village in Clarkdale. You may send greetings by phone to 649-1867 or 114 Lampliter Village. People who have come to find out how long they have been married repeatedly call them "an endangered species."
