About 12 kids from the Boys and Girls Club took a day during spring-break-week to clean up trash, over 25 large bags worth, at an unofficial shooting range off of State Route 260 in Cottonwood, located between mile markers 209 and 210. Local anti-litter champion Gary Chamberlain and the organization Folksville USA helped to plan the day and provided special trash bag rings, which hold open plastic lawn bags, and rubbish grabber tools to assist in picking up the multitude of broken glass and gun casings at the site. Folksville USA also donated $10 per bag to the Boys and Girls Club to help with their current funding problems. The kids, however, seemed less interested in the fundraising prospects, and saw the day as more of a fun-filled field trip where they could lend a hand to help clean up the landscape and accomplish something tangible to be proud of.
