The new bandstand was built south of the grandstand on the west side of the ball park.

A correspondent gathered information about some of the people and the history of Jerome for a series of newspaper articles printed during 1916.
The family of William W. Nichols used burros to pack water to the mining camps and also sold milk, butter, cheese, eggs, and beef to the early residents of what became Jerome.
Cottonwood was a "Boom Town" with buildings completed every week during the summer of 1917. Roads were bad (with a wash on each end of town and a wash running through the middle of town), water came from a horse trough at Alonzo Mason's store, and there was no electricity or sewer.
There is a grave in Oak Creek Canyon near the Thompson ranch where J. H. Prescott was buried.
After deputies were removed from the Yavapai County payroll, there was a new shortage of officers in the Verde Valley.
The new road from Jim Thompson's ranch to Lolomi Lodge has been completed except for a bridge which will soon be finished. Various accommodations for fishermen and visitors are now available along Oak Creek.
Their disappearance was hardly noticed.
An electrical short is believed to be the cause of the fire that gutted the building. Plans are being made to rebuild on the same site.
Plans were made for the construction of the Cottonwood Natatorium, a swimming pool, to be located at the south end of what is now Cactus Street in "Old Town."
When Mrs. Lawrence filed for a divorce, the specific charge was habitual intemperance. She forgot to mention that they were living together, etc.
The date of the dedication will be determined when the bridge across Wilson Canyon has been completed.
"Plans for the construction of a model town on the hogback partly on United Verde Extension ground and partly on Dundee-Arizona property are well under way. The new town is to be right at the eastern edge of Jerome. It will cover part of the Extension company's Florencia claim and most of the Maine Fraction, which is held by the same company. It will also cover the Green-up, the westernmost of the Dundee-Arizona's two claims."
