Governing boards for those four districts – Clarkdale-Jerome, Cottonwood-Oak Creek, Mingus Union and Valley Academy – have until 5 p.m. Aug. 2 to request changes to the pamphlet.
You could say the proposed merger of the Cottonwood-Oak Creek and Mingus Union school districts is akin to a divorce and marriage all in the same day.
Carter’s office will include those arguments in an informational pamphlet that will be mailed to the voters in and for the Mingus Union and Cottonwood Oak-Creek school districts.
The “Committee for Better Upper Verde Valley Schools” wants to thank the 2,028 registered voters who signed petitions to consolidate Mingus Union High School into the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District on the ballot for the November 3, 2020 General Election.
A proposed bill that would consolidate the election requirements for school district mergers is one step closer to Gov. Doug Ducey’s desk.
