Randy Hawley, SOCUSD Board president, noted that at the September School Board meeting, a stipend was approved to improve the district’s ability to recruit new teachers in math, science and special education.

Following presentations by Yavapai County Supervisor Donna Michaels, Yavapai Director of Planning & Development, Jeremy Dye and Sedona Fire District Fire Marshal Chief Dori Booth, President John Wichert called the meeting to order with 14 Member Organizations and 6 guests present.
Guest Speaker: Yavapai County Supervisor, District 3, Donna Michaels addressed the Council on a variety of subjects including how the community can get in touch with the County, broadband strength, the quality and availability of local healthcare and flooding.
President’s Report: Immediate Past President Camille Cox has decided to step away from her position on the BPC Executive Board citing “new responsibilities of a very full-time job.”
President’s Report: John Wichert began the annual meeting by thanking past and present officers, committee chairs, liaisons and volunteers. He then moved onto the appointment of Committee Chairs, noting that the chair of Planning & Zoning (P&Z) has yet to be filled with conversations currently taking place.
